Building Mancini Beverage with Bricks Builder

A straightforward WordPress site for an alcohol beverage distributor — and why Bricks Builder has quietly become my go-to for WordPress projects.

Not every project needs a headless architecture and a custom migration pipeline. Sometimes the right call is a well-built WordPress site. Mancini Beverage is exactly that — a custom designed company site for an alcohol beverage distribution brand, built with WordPress and Bricks Builder.

The one curveball: alcohol. Any site selling or representing booze needs an age verification gate before visitors can enter. I built a custom age verification system that intercepts traffic before the site loads and stores the result in session — clean, simple, no third-party plugin required.

But the part I actually want to talk about is Bricks.

Why Bricks Builder

If you've worked in WordPress long enough, you've probably been burned by a page builder. Divi drops inline styles everywhere. Beaver Builder, as I wrote about in the ZGM case study, layers complexity on top of complexity until the site becomes fragile. Elementor is bloated. They all get the job done until they don't, and then they're a nightmare to debug.

Bricks is different. It's a visual builder, so non-technical clients can hop in and edit content without a developer on call. But under the hood it generates semantic HTML and clean CSS — no inline style soup, no shortcode dependencies, no mystery markup. The output is something you can actually read and be proud of.

It's also genuinely enjoyable to build in. The interface is fast, the component system is flexible, and you're never fighting the tool to get the design you want. For a custom WordPress build, that matters more than people give it credit for.

The right tool for the right job

Headless Next.js is powerful, but it's not always the right fit. It adds complexity, requires a developer to maintain, and has a higher up-front cost. For a smaller site where the client wants to manage their own content and the scope doesn't warrant a full decoupled architecture, a well-built WordPress site with Bricks is the better answer.

Mancini Beverage is live, fast, and easy for the client to maintain. That's the goal.

You can see the full project on the Mancini Beverage project page. If you're looking for a custom WordPress build that doesn't come with a mess attached, let's talk.
